A sample of the gift from the artist, Robert A. Ellison Jr, from his collection of 40 years to the Metropolitan Museum for its 150th anniversary, the third such gift he has given the museum in the past few years.

But………I have to confess that I think the Japanese are more creative and more daring and more skilled. I have documented them also. From news of the difficult pressure to conform in their socieity, these Japanese (and some Korean) ceramic artists have to have been also brave to have tried what they tried long before many of them became, in the end, Living Treasures!
