Winterthur, Delaware at this time of year
Starflowers (Ipheon) are still in bloom underneath a crabapple cultivar when daffodils begin to bloom in their circles on a slope in the park.
The daffodils may persist through the early stage of the blossom of that crabapple cultivar
which stands behind the bent knees of a great stand of Sargent crab apple.
You walk out into the park past fragrant lilac bushes
making sure to pass through a dark stand of gold thread false cypress, their interconnected trunks stabbing the ground
the better to enjoy the circular green-gold-white light of the beds of daffodils in the park.
