Kurumi Azaleas, Winterthur, Delaware

August 19, 2016

Kurumi Azalea bushes were begun on 28 acres by Henry Francis Dupont on his estate, Winterthur, Delaware, to replace chestnut trees felled by disease in the late 1920s.  These bloom in May and some of them have self-hybridized and have no official name.   Photos taken between 2008 and 2016.
