April Days in the park at Winterthur, Delaware

April 2016

Blue-white fields of Italian windflowers and Virginia bluebells and white trillium.  Tulip poplars.  Japanese Yew whose new leaves are fox red.  Redbud.

White cherry; pink flowering quince and crabapple with white flowers and flowers a shade of pink deeper than the quince;  forsythia; circular beds of many varieties of daffodils.   Ferns unfurling towards the sun.

The first of the deciduous azaleas to flower:  a Korean azalea called ‘Cornell Pink’.

Magnolia flowers at their end.  Lilacs just coming into bloom.

The fragrance of Spring, of course, floating in between the trees and among the bushes and hovering low over the ground.
