The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, New York has mounted an exhibition about the garden built by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera in the courtyard of their. house, Casa Azul, in Mexico City.
Some of the plants and plant shapes played a large part in their art.
The artists built a pyramid to display their collection of Meso-American art in their courtyard. The Botanical garden copied the idea of this pyramid to show some of the many cacti which the artists grew in their garden.
The exhibition is placed very near the Garden’s tropical plants, the one more gorgeous than the other. These photos are of both.
